  • I have checked on the internet for the long term benefits its claims to do but to be honest I cant find any or what beneficial ingredients it contains, so if anyone knows can you add to this blog please.

I bought this with no great high expectations Ive learnt not to get too excited about a new product, so being cautious that I am I only got samples I managed to get 10 for £5 form a reputable seller on ebay and one sample lasted me a week as its not the type of cream you pile on.

The cream is more like a paste its an orangey tan colour didnt seem to thick or thin. I used a thin brush to dab it around my eye area then I gently rubbed it patted it around by dark circles.

I have to say they did look a little better but not enough to say wow I look like ive had a good 8 hours sleep (I wish I usually only get 6 if im lucky im a bad sleeper.) The real test after a week was to use this after a heavy night out I only got 4 hours and hungover one sunday morning so knew it had its work cut out for it, and again it helped a little but I still put my concealer over the top to mask my eyes more and to save the disaproving looks my mother would give me for still partying in my 40's oh dear!!!

I have been using this nearly two weeks now twice a day as instructed but it hasnt impressed me enough to buy it again, maybe I need to try it a few more weeks and come back to this blog again, it doesnt seem to give enough coverage for my liking maybe Im passed help where my dark circles are concerned  who knows but for the price alone I wouldnt repurchase to be honest.

If anything changes I will up date you.

Colladeen visage review magic pill or over kill

    Colladeen Visage

    Heres the science

    Anthocyanidin / Pro anthocyanidins: 320mgGreen Tea Leaf:275mg (provided by 50mg of a 5.5:1 extract)
    Lutein:6mgZeaxanthin :240µg

    60 tablets about £18.95

Heres the Info that is supplied for this product.

Colladeen® Visage contains high strength anthocyanidins as found in Colladeen® Original as well as two further ‘skin loving’ nutrients, lutein and green tea extracts. Previous studies have indicated that anthocyanidins, the blue and red plant pigments found in dark skinned fruits, may help to keep collagen healthy by literally blocking the action of free radicals and destructive enzymes known to progressively weaken collagen as we age. Research also indicates that lutein, a well known carotenoid, may play a protective role against the damaging effects of sunlight.

Now, a new placebo controlled 12 week clinical study has shown that Colladeen® Visage can offer statistically significant skin benefits that include
    • Improved skin elasticity and firmness
    • Reduction of wrinkle depth and appearance
    • A natural protection from sun damage

Colladeen Visage provides an impressive dose of pure anthocyanidins from extracts that concentrate these active compounds by up to 500 times their level in the original plant material, making this one of the richest sources of anthocyanidins you can buy.

Ok so I am 40 so realistically this product should be good for me as I have all the signs of aging, small thread veins, wrinkles, saggy jowls, purple tired eyes, ok so its just starting to happen but this surely should improve and help in these problems well read on with the diary I kept.

I bought these on the Internet via a good website that I knew was reputable for vitamins etc.  They took over a week to come not impressive really I expected them in a few days as I received an email saying dispatched then the tablets arrived 5 days after that.

    Week one

The tablets are a salmon pink colour slightly coated and dont taste of anything really, you take 2 a day (why cant they just put all the ingredients in one tablet surely it cant be that hard!)

    Week Two

Taking two a day as instructed but finding that later that day have a vile after taste all day in my mouth and an all most indigestion feeling ( I never get indigestion!) drinking lots of water which will probably alone make my skin clearer.

    Week Three

Still that awful taste, so I decided taking it at night, but woke up with a nasty dry mouth but was better than the week before as no indigestion.  No change in face in anyway shape or form.

    Week Four

Getting bored with this now as still got a dry mouth ( I haven't changed or added anything at all to my diet so I can safely blame these tablets.)
No change to face the same reflexion stares back every day sigh........

    Week Five

I have another packet , no change to face or skin I went out in a poor sun today and still caught a slight bit of sun and it wasn't even that strong mmm factor 10 I have my doubts.

    Week Six

No change no comment still bored.

    Week seven

I asked some of my friends today and my husband if there was any change to my skin at all bearing in mind up till now I hadn't told anyone I was taking them, all comments were no change.  Still dry mouth.

    Week Eight

Still fishing for compliments but no luck that could be because theres no change just a dry mouth.

    Week Nine

Nope nothing to report oh maybe a dry mouth and indigestion again!

    Week Ten

Really studied myself to day and noticed a small spider vein starting to appear under my eye isn't that what this product is supposed to help prevent.  Dry mouth as usual is this beauty lark really worth it!!!

    Week Eleven

One week to go yeyyyyy before I can say I gave it a go and stuck it out for the 12 wks that was recommended, No change no compliments, dry mouth and on off Indigestion.

    Week Twelve

Last two tablets that im ever taking and thank god, that's me done no more!
    conclusion for me anyway
Taken through the day bad taste in mouth nearly all afternoon
taken at night in the morning chronic dry mouth
    Indigestion
and the most important thing of all still got my wrinkles, dark circles and a new spider vein.
My advice take the £18.95 and go get yourself a new dark circle cream or foundation.

    Week 13

    No indigestion yeyyyy
    No dry mouth woop woop
And my skin actually looks more hydrated (strange!)

Calypso once sun cream SPF 40

Calypso once sun cream SPF 40

This is a hidden gem of a sun cream really cheap and it works
I went on holiday recently and took many lotions and potions
Ultra Sun 30 and 50 SPF
Elizabeth Arden 8 hour sun cream SPF 50
    P20
See my other blogs for reviews.

Ok back to calypso you get a whopping 150mls from anything like £7 to £9 depending on where you buy from. Home bargains is the cheapest and Amazon sell it if theres not one in your area.

I bought this as an after thought as I was using ultra sun/Elizabeth Arden on my face and P20 on my legs (for some reason my legs just dont tan very well.) the rest of me arms and torso I usually take a banana boat type lotion but I get so fed up of reaplying that I just wanted to put it on once and just get on with  my day so I purchased this.  Now some reviews were good some bad so it obviously depends on your skin maybe if you are really really fair it may not be strong enough but for the price its worth shoving in your case to try, just make sure you apply generously.

Its a large tube and theres enough to last probably a few weeks, the cream is like a light beige colour it has a slight smell but its quite pleasant, its quite thick and takes a bit of rubbing in but if its once a day then I dont mind.  It felt a bit greasy and sticky but as the time passes it sinks in and you dont really think its any worse than others I have used and pay a fortune for, but I did rub a bit off and felt I needed to patch myself up but I was carrying quite a big bag so it was hanging from my arm.

I had this on all day and apart from the bag incident not once did I burn on my arms or torso or had to reaply.  I was impressed I did think as it was cheap it would cause me to break out in spots but it didnt.

I think this is a must have I am quite fair and this was SPF 40 so for the first 4 days I used this religiously then I went down to ultrasun 30.

    Heres what the internet says.

    Calypso SPF40 Once a Day Lotion: 150ml

Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream spf 50 & Ultra sun spf 30 & 50

Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream SPF 50 & Ultra sun SPF 50

I will start with the Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream SPF 50
I bought this online its quite expensive and you have to just trawl the Internet until you find a good price.

I used this on holiday where I went to Lanzarote they were having a bit of a heat wave and it was in the 90's hotter than my last visits at this time of year, as I am fair and have had Ipl treatment I knew that I needed a strong sun factor.

I had read a few reviews which were mostly good although one reviewer said it did not give 8 hours protection but I didnt have this problem as I wasnt really in the sun light eight hours, another concern was the smell which a small percentage didnt like.

Its quite a thick white cream and it rubbed in ok I didnt look like casper the ghost for too long but it did take a little while to sink into my face and looked a bit greasy for quite a while.

The Smell is vile to me smelt like lemon sick luckily for me this smell didnt linger or I wouldn't have used it again that week.

It does what it says it gives good coverage all day although I did have to reapply to my shoulder blades and bony parts on my decolletage but like every other cream I have used this happens to me, I also noticed that where I took my sunglasses on and off there was slight burning so looked like it wiped off easy.

I probably wouldnt buy it again I think the smell is foul and it does wipe away exposing your skin to the sun so thats a bit concerning and the price is a bit on the expensive side. I paid about £10 and you only got 30ml.

Heres what online info tells you about this product

This lightweight, oil-free lotion helps protect your skin from sun exposure while hydrating for up to 8 hours. The powerful SPF 50 helps shield skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays that can cause sunburn, surface skin cell damage and premature signs of ageing.
    • Provides powerful SPF 50 PA+++ protection to help shield skin against UVA/UVB rays that can cause sunburn, surface skin cell damage and premature signs of aging.
    • Lightweight, oil-free lotion helps protect your skin from sun exposure while hydrating for up to 8 hours.
    • Suitable for all skin types.

    How to Use

Apply liberally and evenly to face 30 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply as needed or after towel drying, swimming or perspiring.

    Ultra sun SPF 30 & 50

    On my holiday I also used Ultra sun I bought 4 x 15ml of SPF 50 and 4 x 15ml and 2 x 30mls of SPF 30 what can I say I like to try everything lol.

The cream is like the Elizabeth arden one its white and quite thick and took a little bit to rub in but once it drys and sinks in it didnt feel greasy or look greasy as much as the the 8 hour cream.

It worked well and like before I did have to stop  (for the odd cocktail of course) and re touch again my bony bits.

I didnt burn anywhere and the cream didnt smell of anything at all another plus side apart from the lack of lemon sick it also contains anti ageing products unfortunately cant say I came back looking any younger sigh....

This is a little gem and it will be on my list next year I only used the SPF 50 on my face and neck, ears.

I didnt have enough of the spf30 for my whole body but I did get a few days use of what I had as I had bought a large bottle of calypso once which was really cheap so please read my other review  on that one.

The 30 and 50  SPF are excellent a good tip would be to buy it at the airport as I found the full size bottles under £20 its not really that much expensive than other products at say boots or a department store which are very poor in comparison.

Heres the info from the internet
    50+SPF Anti-ageing formula - all day protection
Advanced all-in-one skin care and sun protection.
Ultrasun Face 50+SPF & 30 offers optimal protection especially under extreme sun conditions requiring particularly high sun protection. It boasts a special liposome formula which hydrates the skin and helps to diminish the signs of ageing - perfect for sun protection during the summer months and those fabulous holidays abroad!
It is free from oils, emulsifiers and perfume reducing the risk of allergy and making it especially suitable for sensitive skins. Like all Ultrasun products, it is non-greasy, water-resistant and easy to use. apply 15 minutes before direct sunlight.

A few people have found to be allergic to this so it maybe worth buying the sample sizes as shown above you can buy these sizes via Ebay or QVC do a set inc the lip balm so well worth looking into.

This is my version of P20 as Im fair so this is ideal for fair people and I still got a golden brown tan as well.

The best hard skin foot file and hard skin tips

    Hard skin foot file

I have tried every foot file in the universe (well maybe  not but it feels like it!)
I suffer from awful hard skin it will never go away ever I keep it at bay best I can but once a week I have to attack my feet with various devices I own.

What not to waste your money on tried tested and failed!
Ped egg-  Im not keen on this its harsh and doesn't get right the way down to the smoothness that us women desire.

scholl foot file- Just useless infact I think its about £7 of uselessness!!! doesnt do anything for bad dry skin.

pumice stone-  what does this actually do ( It didn't even remove the fine top layer!)

Scholl Cracked Heel Repair Cream -  You still have to file the skin down first but once you've done that its ok but nothing special.

Scholl- hard skin pen - do not waste you money this is a gimmick and a crap one at that!

Boots gorgeous foot file - nope nothing gorgeous about it a bit like a ped egg

Soap and glory foot buffer - Nah wasn't very good like a grater and it hurt.

Any cream will not work well unless you get rid of some of the build up of dry skin always file feet first. Metal files are not very good.

What to get or at least try

Bodyshop File- expensive £5 for what it is but it works it will file away your hard skin nicely.

Boots smoothing foot file - Not as good as bodyshop one but will do the job.

none of these files are metal they are like a big nail file but big enough for a foot.

Ok so you have filed away the hard/dry skin now to moisturise

Argan oil mixed in with E45 keeps your feet soft for a bit longer than normal

Soap & glory body butter has rave reviews

Good old Vaseline works for me and is cheap as chips.

Most creams will work but the oily ones are better, rub in feet pop a pair of cotton socks on and sleep in them over night.  Not a solution but a help

The latest thing out is Udder cream yes you read this properly the stuff they use on cows udders don't fear they have made a human version called udderly smooth you can buy this via Amazon or eBay Im going to try this when I get  back from my holiday its anything from £10 onwards so try research the best deal.

loreal preference capri for brunettes revamped or tramped!!

    loreal preference capri for brunettes

Price varies from £6 upwards depending on offers from the likes of Boots- Superdrug-Supermarkets

I have always used either excellence or preference depending on what was on offer at the time I am not faith full to one particular brand if its the right price and suits my purpose then I will buy it.

I have been using Loreal preference for a while now and it has always done as it says but what did preference go and do they revamped it one word preference "mehhhh" it no longer did the job that it used to do.  They have spoilt it with adding silly shining serum which to me made the liquid greasy!
Anyway I mixed the different bottles as instructed then evenly put on my hair left it 30 mins washed it off, dried it, simple!

My grey at the sides and in my fringe was still there tut tut tut!!!!

I wrote an email to L'oreal stating this I doubt I will hear a reply as big firms sometimes dont care I mean what is one customers whine to them probably nothing at all.

Word to the wise use excellence then when they revamp their product change to something like Nice and easy as they are pretty good too.

     Good old preference
    New not so improved preference

    Veet wax strips sensitive skin

Veet wax strips pack of 20 £7.00 Boots/superdrug

I dont usually use wax I dont really like it its sticky and well it hurts and unlucky for me it gives me serious nasty ingrowing hairs.   But this isn't a review really from me as I use these on my husband he has hairy patches on his back and the back of his shoulders which is annoying for him to say the least of course I get the job of waxing this hair away (oh the Joy!!) the good bit is to do it in a bad mood then if it hurts him you dont care!!!

These strips arent very big for the price and the latest box I bought since May are smaller (shame on your Veet!!!!

Veet are one of the best I have used (well on my husband) they go on well once you warm them up in your hands smooth them on the hairy area then Yankkkk it off which is the fun part make sure your pulling the right way.

I did this on the stray hairs where needed  and the box of 20 didn't last so had to buy another box so not the best value for money in that respect, the end result was good it did the job but there was a little blood and redness of the skin but that depends on how deep the hair goes.

I would give it 7/10 it would have got more but the price is a little steep although it is better than other brand makes which are by most supermarkets and they were terrible they didn't pull the hair out properly maybe cheaper but not worth it.
