Bodyshop edelweiss serum and liquid peel review

I was searching for some new beauty products to try and noticed this range had just come out replacing drops of youth which I have never tried.

Firstly let's talk about the serum. It's the right consistency and melts Into the skin so that's two boxes ticked.

The disappointment is that for 50 year old skin it's just not enough. It's been a good 5 weeks now and I can not see any improvement and my skin feels slightly drier. So I will be returning to my Vichy 89 as it's more hydrating.

Liquid peel

This liquid is strange and works in an odd way. The instruction is you rub it on to your skin once a week and the dead skin rolls Into little balls and you wash it off.  It does exactly what it says on the tin. It's vulgar yet amazing but icky. Really worth getting this and having a deep cleanse.

None of these are particularly cheap the 30ml serum is £30 and 50ml £38.

The liquid peel is £18 for 100ml which is a pretty small bottle, so I will probably use it once a fortnight.

I think these are a bit overhyped if I'm honest and expensive for what they are.

Lip fillers for small lips

See my journey in the quest for natural lips.
The first pic is the end Result

 Sick of my thin lips

Took the plunge now panicking they are too big
So painful and bruised

If you do this please go to a reputable practitioner who has passed all regulations.

This hurts there is no sugar coating this so I advise if your doing it like me because your self conscious and its not to be an Insta model then be aware no pain no gain.

This has made me feel more confident in myself and I would do it again.

It's taken a week to look like the first picture and that is pretty much the result for about 6 months.

My review

I have medium thick brown hair which has always been a bit dry on the ends and slightly greasy at the roots.

I purchased this as I love trying new beauty products, at first I thought it was a bit pricey at £9.99 but for the amount you use the bottle will last a long time.

Its an orange type gel liquid which despite what advertising says it is greasy I mean its an oil how can it not be!

It is lightly fragranced and smells quite nice. Remember not to over use this or you will end up with greasy hair, the best way is use a very tiny amount and build it up from there.

I used this after I washed and blow dried my hair, I used it very sparingly where it was most needed in my case from the middle of my hair down. Avoid your roots if you are prone to greasy hair.

It was lovely and my hair felt and looked shiny and in very good condition.  It was the next day I felt unimpressed my hair was lank and lifeless personally I think this is a one trek pony and you get one day of amazing hair.  This is fine if you wash it everyday then definitely use it as this will be ideal for you or if you have thick hair then again this will most likely be ideal.

I don't wash my hair everyday as it doesn't like it so I wash every other day hence this product is not for me.

There is now a L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mist 100ml which I still may try.

My Review

This eye cream has stirred up quite a storm on the Internet and the reviews are mostly good.  I purchased this on a whim as I had some dollars left after my holiday and thought I would buy this eye cream at the airport after all we all like a last minute treat.

Its a white cream and fairly thick it rubs in ok but smells a bit herbal it didn't put me off as I assume its the smell from one of the ingredients.

The next few days I did expect some sort of great results but was a bit disappointed.  A month went by and again I didn't see any difference I still looked a bit tired and the crows feet only seemed to disappear for a short while on application of the cream which is pointless if your using it at night before you go to bed!

The creams finished now and I didn't repurchase I think there are cheaper alternatives that work better.

Sanctuary Spa Peptide replenish night cream & Peptide protect day cream review

Sanctuary Spa Peptide replenish night cream & Peptide protect day cream review

I purchased both the day and night cream when they were on offer from Boots
Instead of the price of £20 each I managed to pay £14 per jar.

Product description Night cream

With age, skin’s structures weaken & are less able to retain moisture. This specially formulated night cream penetrates into skin while you sleep to regenerate & nourish. The active ingredient Matrixyl Synthe’6 has been clinically proven to stimulate the production of the 6 major building blocks within your skin, resulting in visible wrinkle filling & skin lifting action.
A low molecular form of hyaluronic acid visibly smoothes skin on the surface, further reducing the appearance of wrinkles to allow you & your skin to awaken with a renewed youthful glow.

How to Use

1. After cleansing, apply a generous scoop over face, neck & décolletage
Therapist’s Tip:
For drier skin, layer over or mix with the Lipid Recovery Facial Oil

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), C12-15 alkyl benzoate, Glycerin, Octyldodecanol, Cetearyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Dimethicone, Cera alba (Beeswax), Sodium acrylates copolymer, Isostearyl isostearate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-100 stearate, Paraffinum liquidum (Mineral oil), Cetearyl glucoside, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Imidazolidinyl urea, Disodium EDTA, PPG-1 trideceth-6, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Citric acid, Tocopheryl acetate, Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, Linalool, Alaria esculenta extract, Citrus aurantium amara (Bitter orange) flower oil, Hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, Limonene, Anthemis nobilis flower oil, Geraniol, Palmitoyl tripeptide-38

My review

I used this in conjunction with the Sanctuary Serum but found using both give me quite a bad break out so if you intend to use with anything else then beware as this is a very thick cream and may clog pores if you use to much or use with other lotions/serums.

The cream is white and thick it does have a light fragrance which I don't really like as it smells a bit medical.  It rubs in ok not the best texture Ive ever felt in a cream but not the worst either.

I have nearly finished the Jar and it has lasted me months so even though its a bit dearer than others it certainly lasts a long time a little does go a long way so remember that if your a bit over generous when applying less is sometimes more.

I have to say my wrinkles aren't gone and my face hasn't suddenly firmed up but I do feel my skins in nice condition and my complexion is looking good I think long term use of this will be beneficial.

I would purchase again but probably if its reduced as otherwise there's to much temptation to try other creams for a cheaper price.

My review

It has a few different ingredients from the Night cream but I assume this is because of the SPF element in the cream it states its 20SPF and this is always good for a day cream as even a cool sunny day can be damaging on the skin.

I'm not that keen on the day cream it feels slightly thicker and a bit harder to rub into my face once applied it looks a bit shiny which I do not like  but I guess that's the price of beauty.

I still use it but hate the fact it takes a few hours to sink in.  I don't think they have mastered a good day cream with SPF that doesn't just look like a usual sun screen and the SPF element is not the strongest as I found out one day when I was in Blackpool and it decided to become a very hot sunny day my face burnt so I wouldn't wear it instead of a sun screen.

Its still packed with good ingredients and again I think it will have long term benefits, its not going to reverse the ageing process but I think both the day and night cream will at least help prevent future ageing.

B. Pure Micellar water review

B. Pure Micellar water review

I bought this for half price at Superdrug it was £2.49
I think full price of about £5 is a bit too much especially when you can get other good brands for less but I bought two bottles to last me a while.

I keep reading about how these days you should not use soap apparently its to harsh, it drys your skin and knocks your PH balance out of sync.  I'm a bit old fashioned and was brought  up with good old soap and water so there comes a time when you have to listen to the beauty critics and give into the hype.

I purchased Micellar water that I keep hearing so much about and I'm glad I did.

My review

It does worry me slightly that their are a lot of ingredients in this product for something with the name water in it but I'm not a scientist I can only judge on how my skin reacts.

I've only been using this a week since I gave up soap and I did expect my skin after all these years not to react kindly to this sudden change and usually within a few days my skin is happy to show any negative signs.  I use this in the morning I apply quite generously to a cotton wool pad then I sweep it over my entire face then simply pat it dry with a fresh pad if my skin feels damp or because I've used to much Micellar water (I'm still learning).

My skin feels nice and fresh and clean.
Quite simply I'm very impressed and will continue to use this product I cant promise I wouldn't change the brand once it runs out as I'm not faithful when it comes to what is on offer but for now I'm quite happy to continue using this product.

My review

I purchased this as I usually do on a whim, I see something new and have to have it. I didn't need anything but being a typical woman I have to try these things.

Firstly I cant use this on my face, I did try and was met with small pimples breaking out after a few days so I assume it clogs my pores up.  I don't really have sensitive skin so maybe this is too thick to penetrate the skin on my face.

It is greasy but not in a bad way if anything I found it a little hard to rub in I have to mix it with a light lotion.

Its a light orangey oil with a mild fragrance and I have to say is great for the body, I use this on my arms and legs but sparingly as being too generous will cause it to sit on top of the skin more. I do mix it with a light lotion as it massages in better around your legs and butt.

It hasn't improved my stretch marks. But it has improved my cellulite hurahhhhhh its worth it just for that. My legs are smoother and less dimpled.

If you purchase this oil please do try it on your face and let me know if you had better results.

All I can say is excellent for cellulite.
