My review

I have medium thick brown hair which has always been a bit dry on the ends and slightly greasy at the roots.

I purchased this as I love trying new beauty products, at first I thought it was a bit pricey at £9.99 but for the amount you use the bottle will last a long time.

Its an orange type gel liquid which despite what advertising says it is greasy I mean its an oil how can it not be!

It is lightly fragranced and smells quite nice. Remember not to over use this or you will end up with greasy hair, the best way is use a very tiny amount and build it up from there.

I used this after I washed and blow dried my hair, I used it very sparingly where it was most needed in my case from the middle of my hair down. Avoid your roots if you are prone to greasy hair.

It was lovely and my hair felt and looked shiny and in very good condition.  It was the next day I felt unimpressed my hair was lank and lifeless personally I think this is a one trek pony and you get one day of amazing hair.  This is fine if you wash it everyday then definitely use it as this will be ideal for you or if you have thick hair then again this will most likely be ideal.

I don't wash my hair everyday as it doesn't like it so I wash every other day hence this product is not for me.

There is now a L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Mist 100ml which I still may try.

My Review

This eye cream has stirred up quite a storm on the Internet and the reviews are mostly good.  I purchased this on a whim as I had some dollars left after my holiday and thought I would buy this eye cream at the airport after all we all like a last minute treat.

Its a white cream and fairly thick it rubs in ok but smells a bit herbal it didn't put me off as I assume its the smell from one of the ingredients.

The next few days I did expect some sort of great results but was a bit disappointed.  A month went by and again I didn't see any difference I still looked a bit tired and the crows feet only seemed to disappear for a short while on application of the cream which is pointless if your using it at night before you go to bed!

The creams finished now and I didn't repurchase I think there are cheaper alternatives that work better.

Sanctuary Spa Peptide replenish night cream & Peptide protect day cream review

Sanctuary Spa Peptide replenish night cream & Peptide protect day cream review

I purchased both the day and night cream when they were on offer from Boots
Instead of the price of £20 each I managed to pay £14 per jar.

Product description Night cream

With age, skin’s structures weaken & are less able to retain moisture. This specially formulated night cream penetrates into skin while you sleep to regenerate & nourish. The active ingredient Matrixyl Synthe’6 has been clinically proven to stimulate the production of the 6 major building blocks within your skin, resulting in visible wrinkle filling & skin lifting action.
A low molecular form of hyaluronic acid visibly smoothes skin on the surface, further reducing the appearance of wrinkles to allow you & your skin to awaken with a renewed youthful glow.

How to Use

1. After cleansing, apply a generous scoop over face, neck & décolletage
Therapist’s Tip:
For drier skin, layer over or mix with the Lipid Recovery Facial Oil

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), C12-15 alkyl benzoate, Glycerin, Octyldodecanol, Cetearyl alcohol, Glyceryl stearate, Dimethicone, Cera alba (Beeswax), Sodium acrylates copolymer, Isostearyl isostearate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-100 stearate, Paraffinum liquidum (Mineral oil), Cetearyl glucoside, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Imidazolidinyl urea, Disodium EDTA, PPG-1 trideceth-6, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Citric acid, Tocopheryl acetate, Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, Linalool, Alaria esculenta extract, Citrus aurantium amara (Bitter orange) flower oil, Hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, Limonene, Anthemis nobilis flower oil, Geraniol, Palmitoyl tripeptide-38

My review

I used this in conjunction with the Sanctuary Serum but found using both give me quite a bad break out so if you intend to use with anything else then beware as this is a very thick cream and may clog pores if you use to much or use with other lotions/serums.

The cream is white and thick it does have a light fragrance which I don't really like as it smells a bit medical.  It rubs in ok not the best texture Ive ever felt in a cream but not the worst either.

I have nearly finished the Jar and it has lasted me months so even though its a bit dearer than others it certainly lasts a long time a little does go a long way so remember that if your a bit over generous when applying less is sometimes more.

I have to say my wrinkles aren't gone and my face hasn't suddenly firmed up but I do feel my skins in nice condition and my complexion is looking good I think long term use of this will be beneficial.

I would purchase again but probably if its reduced as otherwise there's to much temptation to try other creams for a cheaper price.

How to Use

For a brightening lift, use in conjunction with Daily Exfoliating Serum

Ingredients

Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, Octocrylene, Butyrospermum parkii (Shea butter), Cyclopentasiloxane, Polyacrylamide, Glycerin, Steareth-2, Cyclohexasiloxane, Polysorbate 60, C26-28 alkyl dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, C13-14 isoparaffin, Steareth-21, Imidazolidinyl urea, Disodium EDTA, Laureth-7, Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) oil, Linalool, Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, Sodium hydroxide, Citrus aurantium amara (Bitter orange) oil, Hydroxypropyl cyclodextrin, Anthemis nobilis oil, BHT, Limonene, Geraniol, Palmitoyl tripeptide-38, Citric acid.

My review

It has a few different ingredients from the Night cream but I assume this is because of the SPF element in the cream it states its 20SPF and this is always good for a day cream as even a cool sunny day can be damaging on the skin.

I'm not that keen on the day cream it feels slightly thicker and a bit harder to rub into my face once applied it looks a bit shiny which I do not like  but I guess that's the price of beauty.

I still use it but hate the fact it takes a few hours to sink in.  I don't think they have mastered a good day cream with SPF that doesn't just look like a usual sun screen and the SPF element is not the strongest as I found out one day when I was in Blackpool and it decided to become a very hot sunny day my face burnt so I wouldn't wear it instead of a sun screen.

Its still packed with good ingredients and again I think it will have long term benefits, its not going to reverse the ageing process but I think both the day and night cream will at least help prevent future ageing.

B. Pure Micellar water review

B. Pure Micellar water review

I bought this for half price at Superdrug it was £2.49
I think full price of about £5 is a bit too much especially when you can get other good brands for less but I bought two bottles to last me a while.

I keep reading about how these days you should not use soap apparently its to harsh, it drys your skin and knocks your PH balance out of sync.  I'm a bit old fashioned and was brought  up with good old soap and water so there comes a time when you have to listen to the beauty critics and give into the hype.

I purchased Micellar water that I keep hearing so much about and I'm glad I did.

My review

It does worry me slightly that their are a lot of ingredients in this product for something with the name water in it but I'm not a scientist I can only judge on how my skin reacts.

I've only been using this a week since I gave up soap and I did expect my skin after all these years not to react kindly to this sudden change and usually within a few days my skin is happy to show any negative signs.  I use this in the morning I apply quite generously to a cotton wool pad then I sweep it over my entire face then simply pat it dry with a fresh pad if my skin feels damp or because I've used to much Micellar water (I'm still learning).

My skin feels nice and fresh and clean.
Quite simply I'm very impressed and will continue to use this product I cant promise I wouldn't change the brand once it runs out as I'm not faithful when it comes to what is on offer but for now I'm quite happy to continue using this product.

My review

I purchased this as I usually do on a whim, I see something new and have to have it. I didn't need anything but being a typical woman I have to try these things.

Firstly I cant use this on my face, I did try and was met with small pimples breaking out after a few days so I assume it clogs my pores up.  I don't really have sensitive skin so maybe this is too thick to penetrate the skin on my face.

It is greasy but not in a bad way if anything I found it a little hard to rub in I have to mix it with a light lotion.

Its a light orangey oil with a mild fragrance and I have to say is great for the body, I use this on my arms and legs but sparingly as being too generous will cause it to sit on top of the skin more. I do mix it with a light lotion as it massages in better around your legs and butt.

It hasn't improved my stretch marks. But it has improved my cellulite hurahhhhhh its worth it just for that. My legs are smoother and less dimpled.

If you purchase this oil please do try it on your face and let me know if you had better results.

All I can say is excellent for cellulite.

Riemann P20 Spf50 once a day review

Riemann P50 once a day review

Prices vary depending on where you purchase, the cheapest I have managed to get this product for is about £15 from amazon but you can pay up to £25 so shop around.

I was always jealous of my husband being able to wear the P20 and never burn, alas I am too fair to use this lotion and ended up burning after a few hours.  I was delighted when they widened their range to suit more skin types.

Product description

P20 is designed to ensure one application a day is sufficient, keeping the time spent reapplying sun protection to a minimum. Once a day application means a little goes a long way, making P20 more economical than other sun preparations that need to be re-applied regularly during the day.
* An independent laboratory test using human volunteers proved that P20 provides 10 hours of sun protection.

My review

I bought this as I need to use SPF50 but couldn't find anything that covered for 3 hours or more without the need to constantly reapply.

I purchased this as soon as I realised that Riemann had brought out higher SPF products.
The lotion is thicker than the SPF 20 and like a brown syrup.

It takes ages to rub in and sits on the top of the skin for at least 45 mins so I was wary of anything against my skin during this time. My husband did compare me to a chip pan for a while.

If your unlucky like me and have to wear high factors then this is really a good choice, I may not sound like im selling it well but compared to other high factors I have previously bought this is the best option.

It protected my skin for a good 8hrs during very hot weather of nearly 100 degrees. It did finely sink in and once it has you can get on with your day and not worry about being fried alive.

It was a spray bottle but with the lotion being pretty thick I didn't really find this useful.

Also with the weather being so hot beware of it as after 8 hours I could almost feel this wearing off and my skin starting to burn slightly.

I wish they would however make it a thinner lotion that would sink in better but its early days and always room for improvement.

Also don't forget you have to apply this and wait about 15 mins before going out in the sun.

I will definitely buy this again.

Olay everyday sunshine light review

Olay everyday sunshine light review

The price of this varies depending where you get it from it ranges from £5 on offer to £10 rrp

Product description

Olay Complete Everyday Sunshine Face is a unique daily facial moisturiser which combines a sunless tanner with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF15 protection and skin pampering Vitamin E to give your face a beautiful sun-kissed glow AND help fight the ageing effects of sun exposure. Olay's innovative moisturising self-tanning formula with a touch of DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) reacts with the upper layers of skin creating golden pigments to give you a natural and healthy looking tan. Daily application allows a sun-kissed glow to build up over time while Olay's nourishing moisturisers constantly hydrate the skin to avoid streaking.

My view

I have to say hand on heart I cannot live without this product, I simply love everything about it.

If you like a fake tan to scream TAN! then this is not for you as its very subtle gradual and light, its a yellow cream that sinks into your face really well.

I apply this at  night although you can apply in the morning as it contains SPF15 so that's a bonus.

I only apply this about 3 times a week as I feel with my skin being so pale I would start to look a bit orange and unnatural.

It smells nice too doesn't leave any unwanted after smell like some gradual tans do.

I did find after one application I had a bit of colour and no streaking.

This cream is for people wanting a hint of sunshine.  Its moisturises and also the next day I felt my face was firmer and more plumped out.

Well worth a try.
Also available in dark.

Malin+Goetz lip moisturizer review

Malin+Goetz lip moisturizer review

I found this little gem by accident on a recent road trip.

It was free in a magazine and I can never resist free gifts.

The prices vary for full size but there are websites on Google which sell the full size for about £10 and believe me its worth every penny.

On first impressions I thought theres no way I'm going to use this its going to end up in the back of my beauty draw with other unwanted lotions and potions.

It comes out a clear greasy looking gel which put me off but I was desperate after burning my lips in the sun a few days earlier I had nothing to use to stop the peeling and dryness.

It went on like a gloss was tasteless which isn't a bad thing as then you don't want to lick it every few seconds.

It stays on really well I only had to apply it a few times that day.  The following day my lips were virtually back to normal.

Very impressed I don't think I will ever not have a tube of this in my bag.

Ingredients

AQUA / WATER, GLYCERIN, ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE, OCTOCRYLENE, DIMETHICONE, ISOPROPYL ISOSTEARATE, PTFE, ALCOHOL DENAT., DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER, BEHENYL ALCOHOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, POLYACRYLAMIDE, AMMONIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/ STEARETH-25 METHACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, DISODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE, CETYL ALCOHOL, MANNITOL, PEG-100 STEARATE, ARGANIA SPINOSA KERNEL EXTRACT, DIMETHICONOL, C13-14 ISOPARAFFIN, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, METHYLPARABEN, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, PANTHENOL, ARACHIDYL ALCOHOL, RETINYL LINOLEATE, CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID, DISODIUM EDTA , LAURETH-7, ZEA MAYS STARCH / CORN STARCH, CARBOMER, CETEARYL GLUCOSIDE, SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, ZINGIBER OFFICINALE ROOT EXTRACT / GINGER ROOT EXTRACT, HYDROGENATED LECITHIN, SILICA [NANO] / SILICA, HYDROLYZED RICE PROTEIN, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, CITRAL, [+/- MAY CONTAIN: CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES]

My opinion

I have heard some really negative reviews about this product but personally I have found this cream to suit my fair complexion.

It is of medium consistency and it was lightly fragranced which might put people off.  The texture is nice, it is white when it comes out but turns to a skin colour when applied to the skin.

The trick to this is not to apply it like an eye cream as this will end up with you looking like orange panda eyes.  I found using a light eye cream first, then applying this very sparingly on a cotton bud and dab it around the eye socket wiping away any access.

Its probably mis sold as it would be better as a concealer, I find it impossible for products to adjust exactly to our skin colours as we are all too different and too many variations of skin types.

I will still continue to use it as it gives great coverage on dark circles.

Quickies Deodorant wipes review

Quickies Deodorant wipes review

Pack of 12 £1.50 to £1.99

I purchased this product as a last minute buy for my holiday.  Im not saying I dont perspire but when I am in a sunny climate of 100 degrees then my body doesn't cope well!!

they are small enough to carry in your bag and very handy to have even if you just need to clean your hands.

I first used these a few days into my holiday when I was having a really sweaty hot day.

I popped to the toilet to try these out, they smell really nice and are not soggy or sticky.

In total they are a life saver and I never leave the house without them.

You may be thinking are these not just another way of selling wet wipes?

These wipes have deodorant ingredients in them and do help prevent further perspiring.

I would highly recommend.

B. ALL waterproof mascara review

B. ALL waterproof mascara review

I purchased this mascara from superdrug for £9.99 but sometimes its half price.

This mascara is thick and the brush is a bristle type wand.

I didn't think I could go wrong with this mascara I can only use waterproof as my eyes become very irritated with a normal mascara and I had heard good reviews about this one.

My first application was a bit messy it just seemed to go everywhere else but on my lashes.  It was slightly clumpy and thick it took to long to dry and I used many cotton buds to clean the residue that came off my lashes onto the top of my cheeks and eyelids.

After a few attempts I gave up applying mascara shouldn't be this much hassle and the liquid clumps pretty much within a few weeks of opening.

Not recommended get yourself a No7 one as they are far superior in every way.

I found this cream not too thick, it's almost borderline gel feeling when using it,  light milky colour, sinks in ok, drys quick, theres little very little fragrance in the cream.
I purchased two small tubes at 15ml each as they were half price.  I am half way through my second tube and to be honest I haven't noticed anything mind blowing about this product.
It does hydrate but I have saw no improvement in my crows feet or dark circles. Its nice enough that I will finish what I have but won't repurchase I think 2 month using this cream is enough time to give it time to see even a slight improvement which I didn't.

I found this product quite thick again a milky colour with little fragrance.

I dabbed this around my eyes and found it quite hard to rub in as it dried pretty quick. I tried not to put too much on as with the texture being thick I knew less would be more.

the cream was ok like I said it wasn't the easiest to apply and on one eye I was over generous which ended up looking like the skin had a white residue on it.

I also tried this around my mouth as I do now have lines their, it was even harder to blend into my skin

My overall view is my crows feet did look slightly blurred and filled but not enough to make me stock up for a year, however I did use this for 2 months as it states it has long term benefits but im still on the look out for something better.

The price isn't bad but its a small tube of 15ml and doesn't last that long, I am finding I use this on nights out with friends as a bit extra wrinkle coverage but as a daily treatment I don't bother as I do feel it leaves a pale white residue wherever I apply it.

Would be better for 30 odd year olds.

The first thing about this Serum that scares me is the ingredients why is there so many I may not be a scientist but I've learnt one thing too many things in any kind of beauty product can not be good.

This cream is medium thickness and rubs in pretty well, the fragrance is very mild.

I used this as a starting point in my beauty regime it rubs into the face well and does not irritate the skin. What I do not like about certain creams/ serums is the chalky feeling left on your fingers which may or may not have something to do with parabens which leads me to think theres nothing natural about this serum but I could be wrong.

My opinion is if it works then I probably don't care what's in it as its all about the result.  Not a great attitude but when your fighting old age you get like that otherwise why would women queue up for the latest antiwrinkle creams.

Alas I wasn't impressed I did use this for several months and saw no difference its nice enough but I saw no improvements in my wrinkles and it didn't firm up my face in anyway.

Wouldn't repurchase maybe better for 20 odd year olds.

Nice and easy age defy or a lie review

Sounds good ?

Alas I did not like this product at all.  Maybe at 42 I'm too young for it ha ha.

I applied this exactly as per instructions, like most other dyes it was fairly easy to do.

I left dye on my hair the time specified.

Once washed off and conditioner applied and rinsed the problems started.

My hair was hard to comb through and felt like it had a coating on it

Once blow dried it was coarse brittle and very very dry.

For weeks my hair felt awful and I had to buy a big tub of conditioning hair mask and leave it on for at least five minutes every time I washed my hair.

Eventually I had to get 4 inches off my coarse brittle dry hair, before it felt like my normal hair.

I do suffer slightly more than average hair fall but this doubled.

I do not have any illnesses or conditions my hair was medium thickness long and in pretty good condition.

The only one thing I can say is it did cover my grey.

Awful product please beware.

Sounds good?  Are you thinking I've heard this all before.  Then look again as this does exactly what it says on the tin.

My opinion
It gives great coverage bearing in mind if your face Is scarred or you have rosacea then maybe this will not be for you.  I have a mixture of normal to dry skin with a quite clear fair complexion.

After moisturising well leave your face to settle for about ten minutes or more before applying the powder. Brush on lightly then gradually build up if needed, it's great as an extra bit of concealer too.

This powder sits well on the skin doesn't clump around the nose or  facial wrinkles if you have any.

This powder is as good or even better than dearer overrated brands that we all waste our money on.

Lovely packaging and brush is excellent quality. Well worth the purchase.
